Looking for ways to incorporate student dialog, discourse and discussion into your math classes on a daily basis?  Join this team of teachers, who are part of the Streamline to Mastery program at the University of Colorado, to learn about their proven methods and their findings that students gain a deeper understanding of complex material when they are able to process - and think through the work - out loud.

Starting with daily learning objectives that encompass both math content and language, they'll demonstrate strategies for providing sentence stems and other language and vocabulary structures. These methods will help improve student understanding and discourse in classroom discussions and group work. They will also show how to assess student’s communication skills, along with other ways they encourage students to communicate their understanding through reading, writing, and speaking.
