Writing powerful Essential Questions that engage students is critical in today's age of education.

The Six Facets of Understanding create a foundation for your Essential Question creation by embracing multiple modes of understanding. They ensure that students not are exposed to the material but gain a deeper understanding that allows them to grow and blossom. Using the Six Facets of Understanding to create good questions segues into creating multiple modes of assessing students. Using the Six Facets assumes that assessments will be more open-ended and look for deeper understanding.

This session will provide participants an opportunity to create powerful Essential Questions while also looking at ways to assess students.
