Mathematics should be an enjoyable subject to teach and to learn. Math anxiety can get in the way of that enjoyment. This workshop is designed to show that the rules and vocabulary of math are developed by people and that we are all mathematicians. The activities use the Common Core Mathematical Content and the Math Practice Standards to explore the science of numbers, quantities, and shapes and the relations between them. The theme that humans developed the math concepts and vocabulary can be reinforced during science, social studies, and language arts lessons.
